“Lewis & Royal” from Rosebud, Alberta will perform at the
Saville Theatre
on February 17th, 2007 Concert only, tickets $20.00

Described as “…one of the best acts I’ve seen/heard in years. Totally relaxed, great banter, brilliant/complimentary musicianship – a great package well in tune with their audience…” by Sean Buckley, the Artistic Director of “Celtic Folk” in Calgary. This duo’s high octane, humor filled, award-winning performance has been thrilling audiences throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan in recent years.

Acclaimed songwriters in their own right, and storytellers through song, this duo is sure to have an audience splitting their sides with laughter one minute, and moved to the verge of tears the next.

Lewis Frere moves the soul with his soft rich vocals and uncanny ability to imitate other artists like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison.

Royal Sproule brings years of lead role theatre experience and hilarious antics to the stage. He often performs character driven stand-up comedy inventing such characters as ‘Paddy O’Furniture’, an Irish Bricklayer on the dole, and ‘Boris’, a backwoods Slavic farmer who delights audiences with his simplistic take on things.

No two shows have ever been quite the same, but you can count on tight vocal harmonies, storytelling through song, spur of the moment offbeat humor and some animal sounds thrown in on the side. Ask Lewis to do his imitation of a ‘calf being branded’, or Royal to do his ‘pig in a concrete barn’. Truly hilarious, wholesome, down-to-earth, quality entertainment.

Together they create an irresistible blend of rural charm and wit.
